Protective Pit bull stops armed intruders from stealing baby from home

  • A family's pit bull stopped armed robbers from stealing their baby

A family's pit bull stopped two armed robbers from stealing their 3-month-old baby. Nayeli Garzon-Jimenez and Adolfo Angeles-Morales were on the phone together on Tuesday when a man and a woman broke into their home while Adolfo was at work.

Nayeli heard a sound from the kitchen door and saw a man and a woman break in through the door. Adolfo listened to what happened on the phone, "I hear the noise over my phone and she started screaming and crying, and said, someone just stuck their hand in the door."

The man demanded she give them money or they would take the baby. Nayeli indicated she did not have any money so the woman grabbed her baby from her arms.

Nayeli's husband Adolfo told WishTV News, "She fought with the lady, because she tried to go by the kitchen, and she held her by the shirt. Then guy come back and hit her with a gun."

A baby was saved from being stolen by robbers by the family dog

The woman ran to the back door with the baby, but that's when one of the couple's two dogs in the back yard stopped her from escaping with the infant. The pit bull refused to let her through. Said Adolfo, "She try to run away through the back door, but one of our doggies - he didn’t let her go through the back door."

The woman turned around and ran towards the front door and threw the baby back in Nayeli's arms.

"Thank god everything’s okay, my baby and my wife," said Adolfo.

Nayeli and their baby girl were taken to hospital and looked over. Mother has a bad bruise and cut on her forehead from where she was hit with the gun, but she and her baby are all right and safe at home thanks to their dog defending his family home.

Police are now looking for a 35 years old black man, 6-foot-2, heavy set with light skin, a close-cut beard and acne scars. The black woman is described as in her mid-20s about 5-foot-10, heavy build with braided hair pulled back in a ponytail and is considered armed and dangerous. She had two lip piercings and an eyebrow piercing. The break in occurred in the 4900 block of West Regent Street in Indianapolis, Indiana. The suspects fled the scene in a 2002-2007 chocolate brown van with tinted windows and windows that extend down the passenger side. Anyone with information is asked to call IMPD at 317-327-3475 or Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.

Guess it's a good thing they don't have BSL in that area!
Amen to that John Brennan! I love hearing great stories like this about Pit bulls. I try to share them with people I know who live in cities who have ordinances against them so at least they can see all the good stories!
Is there a pit bull rescue group in this area that can now work w/ this family so they can incorporate the dogs into the home? Let's face it, it's quite possible the home would never have been entered if the dogs were allowed in the house.
I wish people are less paranoid. Pitts are loving and loyal.
These dogs are deserving of National Recognition.... it's a good thing there are no offensive Breed Specific Laws where they live...
I sure hope and pray that those fur babies are allowed to stay inside of the house too, they have earned their place in the home and hearts of these people.
Amazing story! Amazing dog! Just hope the authorities catch the two intruders.
Wonderful dog! Imagine what could have happened if the family did not have that wonderful dog! So glad the baby is safe, and that both she and her mother are all right.
And they give pit bulls a bad rap! Its all how they are raised and these guys were doing what any other breed of dog that has a loving family would have done to protect their family!! So glad the mother and baby are ok!! Great story!!
