I have been breeding Havanese for about ten years now and became a breeder after buying a dog that was a mobile genetic defect. I felt the challenge of breeding for health as well as type but find it is not as easy as I thought it would be becasue of the conspiracy of silence around health issues.
I jsut finished an articlethis morning for a new Havanese magazine saying that the time has come for just such a database as the DogHeirs are proposing and then your email arrived this evening. I wish this group all the good luck possible.

Hi Rita, could i ask what is a mobile genetic defect? Glad there are breeders like you that are out to raise awareness in the breeding community around genetic health and dogs! PS your dogs are absolutely adorable!
