Lejon a two-year-old mixed breed dog and Jojo a rare three-week-old white lion cub have become fast friends since meeting at the Safari Park in Stukenbrock, Germany.
JoJo had to be separated at birth from his mother due to an infection to the umbilical chord. After being treated away from his mother, zoo workers were not sure the mother would accept her baby, so for safety reasons they are now bottle feeding and handraising Jojo.
They introduced the young cub to Lejon and the two get along well. Park worker Jeanette Wurms told the Daily Mail, "I am glad that Jojo has found something like a step father and step brother in my playfull and loving pointer-mongrel Lejon."
She said, "Lejon is very patient with the lion cub. Jojo scrambles all over him, jumps on his head, bites his fur. But he doesn't mind - he's a very patient surrogate."
