Border Collie and his tiger pal

A tri-colored Border Collie named Solo is helping his guardian take care of the orphaned baby tiger cubs who came to the Seaview Lion Park in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. "Solo is the big brother to all the lions and tiger cubs and orphan animals that get brought into the farm," says game keeper and Solo's guardian, Ashley Gombert.

Border Collie grooms tiger cub

Solo gets along with one particular orphaned tiger cub extremely well and the pair share meals together, groom each other and love to play with each other in the water. Solo's Border Collie instincts will sometimes kick in and he will try and herd the tigers, but he is always making sure they are well looked after and protected, in addition to playing with them regularly.

Just as Solo's instincts kick in, so will the tiger's. It just takes ONE time for one of those tigers to lunge at Solo and he'd be gone. NOT a good idea!
