Dramatic rescue of dog trapped on ice floe (VIDEO)

  • A dog had a dramatic rescue from an ice flow in Russia

Sailors came to the rescue of a dog stranded precariously on an ice floe in the Sea of Okhotsk in the port of Magadan, Russia. The dog was carried more than 100 miles on the small piece of ice before the sailors on a Polish ship saved him.

I think the dog must have been OK, because the story says the dog had floated 100 miles. How else would that be known if the dog hadn't gotten back home? He could have been from the very village he was put ashore in. The story doesn't say how he got on the fractured ice or where. KUDOS to the fishermen that took the time to rescue him. A special thanks to the one that went into the water after the dog.
Thank you doesn't seem enough for what you did for this poor baby. How scared and cold he must have been, you risked your life to ave this dog. You are the BEST!!
How did he end up on the floating piece of ice in the first place? Was he dumped there? He's so thin.
The sailor risked his life to save a dog in a hopeless situation, well done. Perhaps there is something I'm missing in this story, but I almost thought that they were going to put the dog in the van at the end. Instead the dog is seen running off in the snow with two other dogs. I hope he makes out ok.
Oh my what a great rescue, what happened to the dog. Any updates, how sad he went 100 miles on that ice.
