Six thirty am is not the time I would want a dog to wake me up. I do not have to get up fonearly 2 hours later.
my 8 year old toy poodle always gets hungry at 8 am and 5 pm. In the morning, she paws me til I get up to feed her. In the evening, she gives me the google eyes---staring at me with excitablity. When she's done going outside, if I forget to give her a treat, she gets annoyed and barks which I get annoyed cuz I live in an apartment.
I do hope this guy treasures every moment of this love and affection. Precious.

Gustav would make a good Drill Sergeant!!
This reminds me of a beautiful day a long time ago. My dog Indy was still young and I was taking care of a friends dog. I was in a sound sleep and something was tickling my nose. I slowly opened my eyes and it took me a few seconds to make sense of what I was looking at. Indy was on my chest right close to my face looking seriously directly into my eyes. On my left hand side was my friends dog and she was looking directly into my eyes inches away from my face. When I started thinking clearly the first thing I did was laugh before saying the magic words. You wanna go for a walk ! They flew off the bed like they were spring loaded and headed for the door. Halfway down the hall they turned back and jumped on the bed again to make sure I was getting up. I didn't stop for breakfast and took them directly to the park. It was a crisp winter day with big fluffy snowflakes falling slowly from the sky with no wind. The kind of snow that you can only get from lake effect snow. This kind of snow also has the effect of dampening sound making it really quiet. That was a beautiful walk and a beautiful day.
