This video shows the dog injured on the highway in Mexico City, and a kind man rescuing the dog. The man is saying, "He is alive, let's take him to the veterinary ... That's good... Let's see if he can make it.....". (Warning: this may be distressing for some to watch, but there is no blood and the dog is now recovering)

Below is the followup video to the rescue. The man explains that the dog has been at the vet for a week, he lost an eye and has a spinal injury and will need more treatment. The great news is that he will recover in a month! The vet has said that the dog won't be able to walk, but watch what happens when this man opens up the crate door.... the dog walks out on his own!!! At the end of the video, the man says that humans are responsible for what happened to this dog and asks people to help and adopt this dog. But until this dog finds the perfect forever home, he's going to stay with this man, so he can be socialized with other dogs and be taken care of.

Some people wonder why there is video of the rescue - many think that he may have passed the dog a first time, saw him, turned around and picked him up. This is what many people have done when dogs have been rescued on busy highways.

Update Aug. 7, 2012: Looks like a lucky dog is feeling much better! The man who saved this dog is named Rodrigo, but that is all I know right now. I'll update again if/when there is more information.
