Louie protected his family from an intruder who attacked them with mace

A family dog saved a woman and her 1-year-old son after a man posing as a delivery driver pepper sprayed her and her baby on Friday.

The man was holding a package and posed as a UPS driver in order to gain entry to the home, reported KOCO News in Bethany, Oklahoma.

When the woman opened the door he attacked her and the child with mace.

Louie protected his family from an intruder who attacked them with maceThe Pit bull named Louie, came to the rescue when the woman screamed. He chased the intruder out of the house and the suspect fled down the street.

A neighbor heard the commotion and called the woman's fiancé, Ryan Bounds, who was at work. She said the woman was hysterical and could hardly speak after the assault.

Ryan was thankful Louie was at home to protect his family. He is cautioning other families in the area to be careful and not to open their doors to strangers, as the man is still on the loose.

Ryan said his son and fiancé were taken to hospital and are recovering from the ordeal.

He's just been lucky. If he had bitten the intruder he'd be euthanized. Pitiful!
It's to bad that Louie didn't bite a piece of him off for evidence. The person that did this needs to be taken off the streets fast. Spraying a little child in the face with mace, what scum. You can get doorbell intercoms for your front door. Some of them even have a security camera built in. It allows you to answer and identify who is at your door without unlocking it. Criminals do not like security cameras. I'm glad that the woman and the child are ok. Good boy Louie !
So glad to see "Pit Bull" in the title of a good story. All too often, when Pits do something good, they are simply referred to as "Dog". But, when they do something bad, you can be guaranteed that Pit Bull will be in the headline.
That's a good dog; I'm interested to know if he stayed in the home once the intruder ran, or if he chased him. If it was my dog I'd have to run outside to collect him with mace in my eyes; if the cops want to save the intruder's life I'd be worried about how they'd try to get my dog off of him.
