So sorry for your loss. When my dog Jake passed I found this quote and it brought me some comfort. I hope it does the same for you. "A good dog never dies. He always stays. He walks besides you on crisp autumn days when frost is on the fields and winter's drawing near. His head is within our hand in his old way." (Mary Carolyn Davies)
Thank you all for your kind words and Stories. We had to put our baby down yesterday she stopped eating and got sick. It was the worse day of our Lives she will never be forgotten.
My heart hurts for you all. I was in your shoes this summer. My yellow lab, Haley, joined our family when she was 10 weeks old. My son was 5 years old and was so excited to have her. She was 13 and began having trouble getting around. She simply was not herself. My heart knew it was time to say goodbye but I felt like I was not ready. It took us a couple of weeks to make the final decision. It was not easy to say goodbye, but what keeps us going is that we know that she knew she was loved and was a part of our family. She too would sit in the seat like a human and put her paw on the door's arm rest. Many times hitting the power button and rolling down the window. :) Your pup knows you love her and she knows that you would do anything in the world for her. She is not questioning that... there is no doubt in my mind. My thoughts are with you and your family during this time.
