A dog’s family came up with an unbelievable reason as to why they surrendered her to a shelter – she had gotten depressed after their other dog died and they wanted a happier pet. But even more heartbreaking was when Zuzu lit up after she spotted her owners at the very same shelter only to be passed on by. Video of the encounter was filmed by a volunteer.
In video, Zuzu was outside with shelter volunteers when she noticed her family. She jumped up and ran excitedly to the fence and the exchange was filmed by volunteers who then posted it to Facebook. The video went viral and broke the hearts of dog lovers all over the world.
But there will be no more tears for Zuzu, as the two-year-old German Shepherd mix has found a home. Diana Edwards who volunteers with Pet Adoption Fund told Inside Edition: “we had so many inquiries about her.”
Enter Russ and Judith Gallo. Their dog had just lost his companion and they were looking for another dog. When they saw Zuzu’s viral video, they knew they were meant to have her. Watch as Zuzu heads off to meet her new family in the video below.
