A Good Samaritan came to the rescue of a dog who got her tongue stuck to a frozen manhole after licking it.
The dog (who may have been a stray) was desperately trying to pull her tongue free when the man approached her in Vladivostok, Russia, where winter temperatures have been around -15C (5F).
The quick-thinking Good Samaritan poured warm water on the dog’s tongue to melt the ice that had trapped her to the metal covering. After a minute, she’s liberated from the icy manhole and is seen walking around sniffing the ground.
The man makes sure to check on the newly-freed dog to see if there’s any lasting damage, and she wags her tail, letting the man know how grateful she is.
