Sayuri is a blind 13-year-old female Shiba/Pom mix that was dumped at a shelter in Georgia. Her family wrote down the reason for surrender, "landlord wouldn't let keep."Because of Sayuri's extensive medical needs, she was only available to rescue. DC SIR has a soft spot for seniors and brought her into their rescue to give her the care she needed
Like all their rescues, Sayuri got a voice to tell her journey. She quickly made many fans.
DC SIR took Sayuri to the vet for her much-needed care. She had a senior wellness check, blood work, and tests to clear her for multiple surgeries. Once cleared, she was spayed, had 2 hernia repairs, 4 mammary tumor removal and biopsies, dental cleaning, removal and surgery additional aspirations. Sayuri healed quickly and was soon her bouncy and joyous self.
But her biopsies came back with malignant tumors. Now DC SIR needs to raise fund for her oncologist and continued care. Once DC SIR commits to a rescue, they provide the best possible care! Sayuri is already on a species-appropriate therapeutic ketogenic diet and they have high hopes this spirited little girl will have many years of health and happiness ahead of her!
We are hoping 1,000 likes will help bring attention to Sayuri's healing journey!
