Don't cry because it's over smile because it happened - Dr. Seuss

Every dog deserves to know the kindness of humanity, even if it is for a short time before they pass. DC SIR rescue Maemi was with us for only a very short time.

It's with heavy hearts we share the news that Maemi has crossed the rainbow bridge. This is hard for all of us, but we want to thank you all again for supporting our sweet Old Girl.

From the moment we shared her story, you all pulled together to transport her, foster her, donate to her care, share her story, and send her love and well wishes. Although this is a difficult time, we hope you will join us in remembering the good times she had. Maemi came into rescue from horrible conditions, and thanks to your help, she was able to spend the last days of her life soaking up the sunshine she loved so much, savoring each moment with her foster siblings and the humans who showed her unconditional love. We are proud that we could give her a happy ending to her life. We hope this video will help you all cherish the memories of our dear Maemi. Rest in peace, sweet Maemi. You were so, so, loved, and we will miss you
