The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is asking veterinarians and pet owners to help them solve the mystery surrounding jerky treats making pets sick. The FDA’s investigation has been ongoing since 2007. At least 3,600 dogs have become ill from eating jerky treats made of chicken, duck, sweet potatoes and dried fruit manufactured in Asia, particularly China. Of those cases 580 dogs have died.
