Affectionate Pit Bull Jumps Into Patrol Car To Let Cop Know She’s Lost

A Walnut Creek police officer had an adorable run-in with a lost Pit Bull that has the department going the extra distance to try and find her family.

Officer Brent Akers met the friendly Pit bull Sunday evening after she jumped into his parked patrol car and let him know she was lost, the Walnut Creek Police Department tweeted on Monday.

The dog is “healthy weight, loving, likely someone’s pet” but she wasn’t microchipped and didn’t have any tags.

“Do you know this dog? She jumped into a parked patrol car yesterday letting Officer Akers know she was lost. 5:45 pm near Newell / Broadway,” WCPD wrote. “Currently at in Martinez. Share and reunite her with her family!”

She also has painted nails, according to police. “Fun facts about our new friend: she has painted nails, fell asleep in Officer Aker’s lap and napped the entire ride to , she is well trained, can sit, stay, and lay down. Would love to be reunited with her family, or be apart of yours if she is unclaimed.”

She has been taken to Contra Costa Animal Services in Marin, California, where she will wait for 10 days to be reunited with her owner. If no one claims her, she will go up for adoption.

Thankfully, WCPD reported that Quinn’s family came and got her from the shelter! They wrote on Facebook, “UPDATE: QUINN HAS BEEN REUNITED WITH HER FAMILY! Thank you for everyone’s efforts in bringing her home!”
